Why is the lapis lazuli on the vampire myth? and What is special?
I am writing a book that intails the vampire myth and lapis lazuli, I found the refrerece for lapis lazuli in a book I recently read, I would like to know more about the myth.
Lapis Lazuli with deep color blue, often dotted with golden pyrite inclusions, was treasured by the ancient Babylonians, Assyrians, Egyptians. Lapis was highly praised by the Pharaohs in Egypt as a rock mysticism. Besides being used to make amulets and sacred scarobs, Lapis is mentioned in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the instructions of the Egyptians to the afterlife. In chapter 140 of these instructions is said that Lapis, carved in the shape of a gold eye was an amulet of great power. Lapis Lazuli was believed to be a sacred stone, buried with the dead to protect and guide them in the afterlife. Lapis aid in developing psychic abilities and promotes spirituality. It stimulates enlightenment and enhances the work of sleep. Eliminate negative emotions. Traditionally, it is believed to increase mental clarity, virility, and calm. It helps focus the energy and benefits for teachers, lecturers and speakers. Additional Properties of Lapis includes: open the third eye and balances the throat chakra, recognizes psychic attack, blocks it and returns to its origin and invests curses, which harmonizes the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual being, which reveals the inner truth and encourages self-awareness, relieve stress and pent-up anger, bring enduring qualities of honesty and compassion, bringing objectivity and clarity and helps you face the truth wherever found, and help to express her own harmonize views and conflicts. Lapis Lazuli is one, positive healing stone and I've never heard associated with vampires. On the contrary, I have heard that is associated with the angels. The only reason I can think that would be an association with vampires is because of its historical association with the afterlife as described in the Egyptian Book of the Dead as mentioned above.
